Frances Irene McCarty, 86, of Delaware, Ohio passed away peacefully at home Saturday,
August 17, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born on February 5, 1938, in a
small coal camp of Surosa, West Virginia to her parents George and Bernadine (Parsley) Etter.
Her family moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1952. She went on to meet Ronald McCarty at a local
church and the two were wed on January 31, 1959. Frances made a 27-year career as a local
lunch lady and kitchen employee, happily serving the many children who attended Gahanna
City Schools.
Frances leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her daughter Tammy Allison of Delaware, Ohio;
grandchildren Rebecca (Nathan) Blankenship of Ashley, Ohio and Glen (Chelsie) Allison of
Westerville, Ohio; brother Josh (Sandy) Etter of Tennessee; sister Carol (Larry Clipner) Etter of
Westerville, Ohio; great grandchildren Lilly, Noah, Riley, Sawyer, and Glenny, and multiple
nieces and nephews. She now joins her loving husband Ronald McCarty in the
