George Richard "Dick" Cruikshank, 77, of Delaware passed away Tuesday morning, August 20, 2024 at the Kobacker House in Columbus Ohio.
Dick was born on March 31, 1947, in Galion Ohio to the late George and Mary (Utley) Cruikshank. Dick was a 1966 graduate of Delaware Hayes High School. After high school, Dick attended Bailey Tech Vocational School where he graduated with a degree in heavy equipment automotive and diesel engine repairs. Dick used this training while he was enlisted in the United States Army. Dick proudly served his country and earned an honorable discharge. After his service, he went on to work for Rusk Bros as a Volkswagen specialist. Dick had a passion for Volkswagens. He later left Rusk Bros to work for Honda of America. Dick retired from Honda, after 22 years, where he worked for their quality control department.
After Dick retired, he enjoyed going to cruise-ins. Instead of "wrenching" on one of his many Volkswagens, he chose to purchase his former father in law's
